Take over
2,598
million people and squeeze them into a burgeoning metropolis
less than 1000 sq miles, and you wind up with Bangkok, the city ranked
number 1 in population density.
That many people in such a small space
results in a gritty, dirty, polluted city, with probably the worst traffic
jams on the planet.
Tourism however, is very popular in Bangkok, and is one
of the keys to it growing economy. (There is no oxygen left in the air - so
don't expect to do much breathing.)
The “it’s a nice place to visit, but I
wouldn’t want live there” attitude towards Bangkok, probably owes itself to
the well-known sex trade.
While prostitution is technically illegal in
Bangkok, the law turns a blind eye to it – and in fact probably makes good
money off of it.
Massage parlors are common, as are adult bars, and
nightclubs all of which are havens for prostitutes of all shapes, sexes, and
sizes.
While violent crime such as murder is not nearly as bad as it once
was here because of the tourist trade, theft both major and minor especially
of tourists is common.
