Bringing you the worst cities in the World!!

The world is very, very, very big. There are some wonderful places on its surface. Fabulous sun-kissed beaches with miles of golden sands. Wonderful mountains with crystal steams cascading down into tropical paradises. There are also some horrendous cities populated by a subculture of thugs and gangsters. Sadly this website is about the latter locations. Here you will discover some of the most vile and violent places to live. So read on and be prepared to be shocked.        WORST CITY

WORST CITY - Tirana, Albania

Tirana, Albania

Population: 343,000 and a half

Worst Feature: Over 800 children trying to survive on the streets

Best Feature: Beautiful mosques hidden down side streets to be discovered unrepentantly

Tirana is exactly half way between Rome and Istanbul, and for many years it was a Communist state so Moscow has had its influence too. The result is a somewhat haphazard mix of architecture that is uniquely Albanian. There isn’t a lot to do except drink coffee – this is a country where supposedly they have 50 words for types of eyebrows and even more for moustache styles – presumably because of the amount of time spent people watching, but there is a large library, theatre and university. Oh and don’t miss the Enver Hoxha Pyramid!

The best way to enjoy Tirana

There's no need for air conditioning in the hotels.

Help the children of Albania with CRY

CRY is working in partnership with Shtepia E Shpreses (Home of Hope) Foundation (established 1994) and local churches to provide consistent support and help both spiritual and material to: children and young people living at the Home of Hope children's orphanage; children and young people who have returned from Home of Hope to live with their families or foster carers; and children and young people requiring support to enable them to remain living with their families.

In 2003 CRY took over the management of the Home of Hope which cares for children and young people aged up to 14 years. They are cared for in small groups. The Home is managed by an Albanian Director (Arjan Emini) who is assisted by a social worker and House Mothers. Apart from the care of the children in the Residential Home, work is now being done with those children who have returned to their own families.

CRY's objective is to ensure that all the children and young people receive the regular help and support that will encourage them in their skills for life and spiritual development. Also for the Care Team to develop skills and expertise in respect of social/child care which will enable them to develop services to children and young people in their community, and to continue to develop innovative ways to place the children and young people with their families or similar family type homes.
